CEF/DIL: Deloitte (Re)Publishes An Old Document

If there’s one thing that can be said for this whole CEF/DIL mess is that it’s attracted a considerable amount of time, attention, and expenditures. There’s accountants, lawyers, courts, and the mass news media that’s involved in this, and a number of them maintain websites where they publish their various reports and updates. Since checking these various web pages by hand would be rather arduous I use a couple of “change detection” services to let me know when a page I’m interested in has changed.

Recently I got a notice that on Apr 17, 2019 Deloitte updated it’s web page from the Oct 1, 2018 update.

What was this update? The only change reported was under the “District” column of the monitor web page which is on the right side:

13. Order amending the District Plan – filed October 26, 2017

Here’s the thing – if you search the monitor page for October 26, 2017 – you’ll find the same document published back in 2017 under “Court Documents”:

268. Order amending the District Plan filed on October 26, 2017

A quick visual inspection of both documents looks identical to this reviewer. I’m guessing this is just a catch-up publication to add a link that should’ve been added to the District section when this document was originally posted.

  1. On Deloitte’s Lutheran Church – Canada, the Alberta – British Columbia District et. al. webpage, there is an April 18, 2019, dated document, THIRTY-SEVENTH REPORT OF THE MONITOR IN THE MATTER OF THE COMPANIES CREDITORS’ ARRANGEMENT ACT, R.S.C. 1985 c. C-36 AS AMENDED AND IN THE MATTER OF A PLAN OF COMPROMISE OR ARRANGEMENT OF LUTHERAN CHURCH – CANADA, THE ALBERTA – BRITISH COLUMBIA DISTRICT, LUTHERAN CHURCH-CANADA, THE ALBERTA-BRITISH COLUMBIA DISTRICT INVESTMENTS LTD., ENCHARIS COMMUNITY HOUSING AND SERVICES AND ENCHARIS MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT SERVICES.

The document states on p. 6:

    26. As set out above, at the April 25 Hearing, the District will be seeking approval for the sale of the Tuscany Lands. The purchaser is 1906163 Alberta Ltd., operating as Regal Developments.

    27. As per the terms of the previously reported settlement with Foothills Lutheran Church of Calgary (“Foothills”), Foothills will be entitled to 25.61% of the net sale proceeds, after deduction of the District’s selling expenses related to the Tuscany Lands.
