I apologize for all the posts today – I do hope this is the last one. 🙂
Late this afternoon Candace Rivet forwarded a letter from President Schaeffer to the convention attendees. The letter follows:
From: Candace Rivet
Date: Oct 18, 2018 3:30 PM
Subject: FW: A final note before the convention!
Greetings Delegates!
I realise some of you are already traveling to Sherwood Park for the District convention and most of you will be making the journey tomorrow so I pray the Lord will grant you safe travels!
A couple things:
1. A few delegates have requested a copy of the current Bylaws and Handbook of the ABC District. A copy of the Bylaws and Handbook are available on the District website. Click here.
2. The Resolution Committee has received feedback regarding Resolution 2018-01-03 “TO ACCEPT INTERIM BYLAWS …”. Based on the input/feedback received, they are working on a revised draft of the proposed bylaws. You will receive a copy of this revised draft of the bylaws in Today’s Business (Friday edition) when you check in at the registration desk.
See you tomorrow!
May the joy of the Lord fill your heart and home!

Strictly speaking, once the agenda’s been published it can’t be changed except by assent of the delegates.
As for changing the proposed bylaws and not letting people see them until they arrive at the convention – I really don’t like that. Anything that conceals information until the last minute and then requires a vote has to be considered with a huge grain of salt. Or tabled until a later date to provide time for due consideration of the matter. I’ve seen too many cases of “buyers remorse” when stuff like this happens.
